Glasair III

A fast wing starts with a precision jig.  Getting the wing build right is critical to creating an airplane that is stable and flies straight.  

Saving a hundred pounds one ounce at a time.  Almost every part I look at and think, "I could make this better, lighter, stronger."  Some parts are worth the time others aren't.  Today I saved 4oz and practiced some titanium welding too!

What's a bellcrank? Something that transfers motion in one direction to another direction.  I enjoy making the metal bits, here are a few more pieces I made recently...

Today I just felt like doing some metal fab so I started on some of the aluminum pieces required for the control system in the wing.
